George B. Talbot, Jr.
After graduating from Vanderbilt University in 1966 with a B.A. degree in English Literature, I entered law school at the University of Arkansas. A year later I made an early career adjustment and entered the investment business, which was my first love and which was to be my life's work. I started in 1967 with a regional firm in Little Rock, Dabbs Sullivan, Trulock & Co. In 1973 I moved to Stephens Inc., and in 1974 I started work at Simmons First National Bank in Pine Bluff as Trust Investment Officer. After 15 years in that position, I left to start Talbot Capital Management in 1989.
I am a Chartered Financial Analyst.
I am active in community and church affairs, having served on the Boards and as an officer for the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, the Rotary Club of Pine Bluff, the Seabrook YMCA, Grace Episcopal Church and the Episcopal Diocese of Arkansas.
My wife, Ann, and I have three children and five grandchildren.
A number of years ago a newsaper article listed several characteristics helpful in identifying investment managers who tend to achieve superior long-term results. These characteristics included independent thinking, unemcumbered decision-making, personal discipline, flexibility and love of the business.
Since starting Talbot Capital Management in 1989, I have tried to embed those winning characteristics into this company. Love of the business was no problem. I have spent my entire adult life in the investment business and still find it as challenging and rewarding as the first day I came to work.
To the best of my abilities, I try to act in the best interests of each client as an individual. I do my best to deliver a successful investment experience for each one of them. I am driven to provide the highest level of professional advice and superior service.
